I love this book - I just love it when your blog reminds me of things I hadn't thought of in a while. We have a copy of this book (somewhere) I will have to dig it out today and read it to Cissy.
Some of my other "old fashioned favourites" are Naughty Agapanthus, The Elephant and the Bad Baby (we are loving this one at the moment - it is available as a board book now and I love the tough pages), anything by Bill Peet or Richard Scarry, The Story of Ping and the wonderful Harry the Dirty Dog which is truly timeless!
I know there are lots more - I'm looking forward to seeing what you remember too.
