Around the World with Mouk

Marc Boutavant's illustrative style is loud, larger than life, and incredibly detailed. His distinctive animals characters are so cute and so interesting at the same time.

This graphically stunning book features the adventures of Mouk, as he travels to 12 different countries across the world. From each destination he sends a note to his friends back home telling them about his experiences. Each double-page spread of gorgeous colour showcases a different country, and each one has a distinctive look and feel. There is so much to look at on each page, and plenty of quirky grabs of text as different characters speak.

The production quality of this book is amazing - the main pages of the book are coated in a glossy finish, which lends a brilliant sheen to the illustrations, and acts as a surface on which the stickers - found on two generous sheets at the back of the book - can be easily placed and removed.

This is a picture book which is perfectly suited to older kids - and particularly for anyone interested in graphic design and new forms of illustrative style.
